Instant Telephone Translation Service 24h

Copyright © 2019 myfriendinspain.com | All rights reserved. | Data Protection | Cookies

how does it work when you call us?

First you will hear a short burst of Spanish which is a legal requirement, simply informing you that you are calling a number with additional charges (1,21€/1,57€ total cost per minute.)

Immediately after this there is a 3 choice menu:

(We tried to keep it short but to make it so everyone can understand the relevant part!)

1 - "One Uno English Inglés"

2 - "Deux Dos Français Francés"

3 - "Drei Tres Deutsch Alemán"

Select your language at any moment then stay on the line to be connected directly to your Spanish speaking interpreter.

covid-19 donation pledge

As a young company, starting out only last year on our mission to help people to communicate cheaply between Spanish and other languages via our Instant Telephone Interpretation Service 24h, we have been catapulted into a unique and amazing position.

OUR WAY OF WORKING AVOIDS ANY RISK OF INFECTION to us, or to our clients.

With this gift we feel a great responsibility to help.

At the same time, we do not want to profit from something such as this pandemic.

Therefore, we have taken the decision to donate all profit from any health related calls during this difficult time, until further notice.

Our interpreters will still be paid for their tireless work, around the clock, supporting people in need, but the company will pass on all profit to a worthy cause.

The cause we have chosen to receive our donations is the United Nations Foundation and the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation's "COVID-19 Response Fund" set up to support the World Health Authority and partners in their massive effort to help countries prevent, detect, and manage the coronavirus – particularly those where needs are greatest...

https://www.who.int/…/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019/donate

Please help us to spread the word to those that need our help, including any interpreters currently going to high risk places as we can work with them to facilitate them offering the same help from home too.

You can even make a donation directly right now. https://covid19responsefund.org/

We emailed to let them know and we got a lovely reply:

"Dear Martin,

Thanks so much for supporting the global response to COVID-19! We greatly appreciate your help connecting your network to our donation page. Contributors are also welcome to donate via Facebook or Google.

Again, thank you, and please let me know if any questions.

Kind regards,

XXXXX

COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund"

We are here to help, we are YOUR friend in Spain.

need other help?

Our service is an Instant Telephone Interpretation Service 24h.

We are not an advice line, chat line nor information line and we do not provide a written translation service.

We occasionally get asked questions during the calls and we usually direct the caller to this page then tell them to hang up quickly to save their money!

For example, if you ask us "Where is the best restaurant in Denia?" we can tell you "¿Donde esta el mejor restaurante en Denia?" but we won't use your call time to chat about opinions on restaurants - there are much cheaper ways to get that information!

But if you need help with documents, general information or legal advice etc, please find below a list of carefully selected official and reputable sources of information, advice and services of things we sometimes get asked for by non Spanish people living in Spain...

*If you are an English speaking service that you think should be listed on this page, please contact us via our facebook page to discuss our qualification process.
